Commercial checklist

Commercial cleaning checklist

Most commercial cleaning disputes are not about effort. They are about scope: nobody wrote down how often the glass gets done. Use this as a starting scope document, whether you clean in-house or hire it out.

How to use this as a scope

Walk the space with this list and mark each line as daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly. That single change turns a vague “we clean the office” into something a vendor can price and you can check.

For a Vancouver office of 2,000–5,000 sq ft, most schedules settle at five evening visits a week plus one deeper weekend visit a month.

What to ask a commercial cleaner before signing. Ask for a written scope with frequencies, the name of the account manager, proof of general liability insurance, WorkSafeBC clearance, and the substitution policy when a cleaner is away. A quote that is materially cheaper than the others usually means fewer visits, a thinner scope, or no coverage — ask which one.
